About Holistic Cyber

Holistic Cyber is an Australian cybersecurity consultancy dedicated to serving small to medium enterprises (SMEs).


It provides advice focussing on practical and affordable measures to greatly improve cybersecurity and resilience, prioritised by return on effort and investment, and considering the specifics of each individual organisation.

Holistic Cyber was founded by Robert Salier.

Robert has worked in the IT industry for over 30 years, starting as a computer programmer and engineering lead, before moving into business, strategy and management roles over 25 years ago.  Since 2018 he has been working almost exclusively in cybersecurity, developing strategies and roadmaps for cybersecurity products and services, and leading the development and launch of those products and services.

Prior to 2018 he worked in telecommunications, data networking, digital services and apps.  In addition to working for small and medium businesses, he has worked in Australia and abroad for some of the biggest names in technology, including Unisys, Hewlett-Packard, and Lucent Technologies (the owner of Bell Labs, known for inventing the transistor, laser, and solar cell).

With a rare combination of technical background and business acumen, Robert has a knack for translating complex technical concepts into plain English.  He is equally comfortable discussing technical details with architects and engineers as discussing investment and financial outcomes with business owners.
