We’re all human (well I hope we all are … at least I was last time I checked), so it’s almost certainly just a matter of time before each of us, including myself, fall for a phishing scam.
Sometimes even cybersecurity experts fall for phishing attacks, particularly when well executed by the criminal. Here’s a “good” example: https://www.darkreading.com/cyberattacks-data-breaches/security-expert-troy-hunt-lured-mailchimp-phish.
Be vigilant! Ensure your staff are just as vigilant, savvy and know what to look out for. Oftentimes it’s a message saying there’s a problem, probably urgent, and that you need to login to review it … except the link goes to an imitation copy of the login page for a real website.
e.g. peoplesbаnk.com.au or peoplesbaлk.com.au rather than peoplesbank.net.au.
We are most likely fall for it when we are rushed, overloaded and/or distracted!
